Senior finance role based on the Shore!
In the engineering industry, our client is a market leader in its field with a world wide reach. Head office is based in Auckland where the company originated and there are large offices in Australia and the States.
A pivotal position has become vacant as Financial Controller, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, based in Auckland with a finance team spread across three separate offices; Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne. This position interacts on a daily base with senior people across the business including the Chief Executive Officer, Business Unit Managers and Functional Managers as well as having three direct reports and six indirect reports. Therefore it is imperative that the successful candidate has the ability to build rapport and strong working relationships across the business. It will require someone with a gregarious and outgoing nature who people are comfortable with and can relate and open up to. To be successful in this role you need to work closely with the business and it requires people to be forthcoming with information; this will only happen when there are open lines of communication and they trust and respect you.
Technically the successful candidate will have advanced excel and strong database skills. To understand the complexities of this industry it is imperative that the candidate have previous experience working within a contracting business. Financial and management accounting with a CA qualification is a given.
