Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive head office team based in Auckland. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a varied, busy environment where your attention to detail and collaborative spirit will be highly valued. As an integral part of the finance function, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes across multiple entities within the group. The organisation prides itself on fostering a close-knit, co-operative culture where every team member’s contribution is recognised and appreciated.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Accounts Administrator, you will immerse yourself in a variety of essential finance tasks that underpin the success of the entire organisation. Your responsibilities will involve;

  • Process end-to-end accounts payable for the head office as well as associated group entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage.
  • Raise and issue purchase orders while maintaining compliance with internal authority limits, demonstrating careful attention to company policies.
  • Manage invoice coding, batching, and payment processing with precision, supporting the integrity of financial data across the organisation.
  • Follow up on approvals by liaising with senior stakeholders when necessary, using your interpersonal skills to ensure smooth work flow.
  • Provide administrative support for various finance-related tasks including basic reporting duties that contribute to informed decision-making.
  • Maintain tidy and accurate records and documentation so that information is always accessible and up-to-date for audits or reviews.
  • Liaise regularly with administrators across different branches to ensure consistency in processes and provide guidance or training as needed.
  • Support general office functions by working collaboratively with colleagues from other departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Contribute positively to the wider team by sharing knowledge, offering assistance where required, and participating in communal initiatives.

Key Requirements:

To excel in this role, your background should include;

  • Previous experience in an accounts administration or finance support role that demonstrates your dependability and understanding of financial processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems—Xero experience is particularly valued—and advanced Excel skills that enable you to manage data efficiently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with a high level of accuracy when processing transactions or maintaining records.
  • Excellent organisational abilities allowing you to prioritise workload effectively while managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly with colleagues at all levels including senior leadership, showing empathy and consideration in every interaction.
  • A positive attitude paired with a collaborative mindset ensures you are always willing to help others and adapt as circumstances change.
  • Eagerness to learn new systems or procedures while taking initiative to suggest or implement process improvements that benefit the whole team.
  • Ability to work independently when required but also thrive as part of a supportive group focused on shared success.
