The Credit Control Manager role is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the financial future of a business deeply committed to sustainability, diversity, and community investment. What you'll do:

  • Lead and support a team of three, setting clear goals and providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture, working collaboratively with Operations, IT, and Commercial teams to ensure credit processes meet business needs.
  • Manage credit risk, debtor accounts, and overdue balances to optimise cash flow and minimise bad debt.
  • Oversee debt collection activities and resolve customer disputes promptly and professionally.
  • Provide regular debtor performance reports and insights to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Partner with Commercial, Customer Service, and Finance teams to align on customer and credit strategies.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with customers to support timely payments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across credit control operations.
  • Contribute to finance projects, system upgrades, and initiatives that enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain robust credit control policies, systems, and data governance to ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements.
  • Prepare credit risk reports and recommend actions to mitigate exposure.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in credit control, debt collection, and credit risk management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a small team.
  • Sound knowledge of New Zealand credit and employment legislation.
  • Skilled in financial reporting, analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
