Assistant Accountant

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to take charge of their administration and accounting functions in a hands-on role. Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Accountant, your primary role will be to manage all aspects of the company's administration and accounting functions. You will handle everything from reception telephones to maintaining stationery stock levels. Your responsibilities will also include managing cash flow spreadsheets, reconciling the cashbook to the General Ledger daily, handling accounts payable and receivable tasks. This role requires someone who can work independently with minimal guidance, has excellent attention to detail, and possesses strong analytical skills.

  • Manage all aspects of the business's general administration
  • Handle reception telephones, ensuring efficient communication
  • Monitor and maintain stationery stock levels
  • Organise contractors for general repairs as needed
  • Take responsibility for cash flow spreadsheets, updating all currencies daily
  • Reconcile cashbook to the General Ledger daily
  • Handle accounts payable including coding invoices, and posting invoice batches
  • Manage accounts receivable including keying commercial invoices, and receipting daily payments

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in managing both accounts payable and receivable. You have comprehensive knowledge of Excel and other accounting software. Your excellent analytical abilities allow you to handle complex financial data with ease. You are capable of working independently with minimal guidance and meeting strict deadlines. Your strong communication skills ensure efficient telephone handling.
