Our client is a leading commercial property company in New Zealand, renowned for their professional property and funds management. They are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join their team in Auckland. This role offers the opportunity to manage the delivery of quality financial reporting and analysis across a diverse range of property funds and schemes. The successful candidate will have dual responsibility for providing consistent and accurate reporting whilst building enduring business partnerships with key relations across the business and external stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of our client's operations, managing the delivery of quality financial reporting and analysis across a diverse range of property funds and schemes. You will be responsible for ensuring regular budget consolidation, cash flow management, and maintaining open communication with key relationships. Your role will also involve managing complex property end-to-end reporting requirements, reviewing monthly creditor payment runs, managing cash-flows, and assisting with the production of annual financial statements. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Manage the delivery of quality financial reporting and analysis
  • Ensure regular budget consolidation and cash flow management through managing direct reports
  • Build enduring business partnerships with key relations across the business and external stakeholders
  • Review monthly management files ensuring accuracy and depth in reporting
  • Manage complex property end-to-end reporting requirements
  • Review monthly creditor payment runs and liaise with key relationships to ensure all transactions are captured timely
  • Manage the cash-flows of assigned portfolio entities
  • Assist with the production of annual financial statements compliant with all relevant IFRS standards

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position brings a wealth of experience in financial accounting at a senior level. You possess strong technical accounting skills, particularly in NZ IFRS, along with tax exposure and experience in PIE, GST, and income tax. Your intermediate knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, coupled with your experience using various accounting software packages, equips you well for this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a degree in Commerce or Finance and a CA/CPA qualification.

  • At least 2 years' experience in a financial accounting role at a senior level
  • Strong technical accounting NZ IFRS skills and knowledge
  • Tax exposure and experience – PIE and GST, income tax
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using accounting software and packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Commerce / Finance or equivalent 3-4 years’ experience
  • CA/CPA qualification
