Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing accurate and high-quality financial advice and reporting. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial strategy and operational decision-making across the organisation. Your role will involve leading end-to-end financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning. You will also manage the audit of financial records, ensuring adherence to accounting principles. Additionally, you will provide procurement advice to ensure compliance with New Zealand Government Procurement rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain key finance business partnering relationships with the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting (actuals, budgets and forecasts) and provide strategic insights to support leadership decisions.
  • Lead end-to-end financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
  • Provide high-quality, multi-year financial advice and reporting to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Manage the audit of financial records, accounting practices, internal controls, and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Provide procurement/contractual/commercial advice to ensure compliance with New Zealand Government Procurement rules and organisational policy.

Key Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant qualification or an equivalent international standard.
  • Significant practical experience in finance, accounting or similar role in a Public Sector organisation.
  • Proven experience in finance business partnering, organisational reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and expertise in financial modelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques and variance analysis.
