Finance and Accounting Officer (Accountant)

This is a varied role in which you’ll wear many hats, with responsibilities spanning from tax reporting and preparation of financial statements to payroll and day to day accounts administration.

The Company!
Our client is a leading international trust and corporate services provider, working with an impressive portfolio of private clients, intermediaries, business owners, and corporations. Despite growing to be one of the most recognised names in the industry they have remained family owned and run, and have a small, collaborative local team.

The role!
This is a senior role in the business, reporting directly to the Managing Director. This is an end to end accounts role in which you’ll wear many hats, with responsibilities spanning from tax reporting and preparation of financial statements to payroll and day to day accounts administration.

This role could suit someone looking to juggle a career with commitments outside of work, or someone looking to reduce their hours but maintain a rewarding career. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a full time role, this could be considered.

• Day-to-day accounts administration including Bank Reconciliation, maintenance of the accounts receivable ledger, preparation of all invoices, cash receipts, management of aged debtors
• Maintenance of accounting records for New Zealand trust companies
• Preparation of management and financial reports for managed trust companies, client trusts and Limited Partnerships
• Preparation of annual financial statements for managed trust companies, private trust companies and applicable underlying companies
• Assisting with and managing annual audits with external auditors
• GST and other relevant tax returns and reporting
• Preparation of Income Tax Returns for Managed Trust Companies
• Payroll
• Management of Company Bank Accounts
• Management of another Accounting team member

What we’re looking for!
• CA or CPA qualified, or working towards ideally, although equivalent experience will be considered
• 3 – 5 years Accounting experience
• Experience with trusts advantageous, or a willingness to learn
• Team Player
• Happy to wear a few hats
• MYOB Experience beneficial
