Senior Accountant
Green Gorilla, a pioneering force in sustainable waste management and resource recovery, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance Team in Onehunga, Auckland. Green Gorilla operates New Zealand's largest commercial, industrial, construction, and demolition resource recovery facility, supported by a network of transfer stations.

What you’ll do:
As a Senior Accountant at Green Gorilla, you’ll play a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting and strong operational performance. Your responsibilities include:
- Prepare financial and statistical reports, ensuring accuracy and reliable insights for decision-making.
- Review Profit & Loss results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful analysis to support performance.
- Assist the Finance Manager with monthly reporting, group consolidation, and variance analysis.
- Manage weekly and monthly customer billing, resolve account queries, and maintain positive client relationships.
- Oversee credit notes, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable subledger close activities.
- Administer payroll and subcontractor processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review customer reporting outputs and ensure data integrity across financial systems.
- Manage owner driver invoicing, month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, and intercompany reviews.
- Prepare regular balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Contribute to finance KPIs, identify process improvements, and support system and project enhancements.
What you bring
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- At least five year's accounting experience, including customer billing and payroll exposure.
- Strong understanding of NZ financial reporting standards, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Integrity, reliability, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
