Senior Accountant

A boutique investment bank and corporate finance business is looking for a Senior Accountant to join in a permanent role. This is an end to and accounting role where you will work closely with senior leadership across the business.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a privately owned investment bank and funds management firm. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll take ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, tax compliance, cash management, and financial control activities across the group.

This is a role offering both variety and autonomy — ideal for someone who enjoys end‑to‑end accounting responsibility in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Management Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for boards, advisory committees, and investors
  • Present financial results and insights as required
  • Deliver annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare or review annual financial statements
  • Track project and operational expenditure

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Review and file GST returns
  • Prepare IR7 and IR7P partnership returns
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and statutory obligations

Cashflow & Treasury

  • Monitor weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Assist with treasury activities including banking and debt facility management

Financial Control

  • Prepare and review reconciliations
  • Complete month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support external audits
  • Review payment files and oversee supplier verification
  • Manage invoice and credit card coding processes

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain policy registers and review cycles
  • Provide technical accounting advice on transactions
  • Manage key supplier relationships
  • Complete annual voluntary ETS returns
  • Contribute to other finance tasks as needed

About You

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 3+ years’ professional experience
  • Audit or financial accounting background preferred
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • Experience using Xero advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
