Finance Analyst
A well respected, not-for-profit organisation based in Christchurch, dedicated to providing affordable, quality housing solutions for diverse communities, is seeking a skilled Finance Analyst to join their Finance team in this dynamic environment. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing financial insights, forecasting and reporting to drive informed decision-making.
In this newly created position, you will be instrumental in modelling long-term portfolio scenarios for new housing developments while contributing to business reporting that supports strategic growth. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with colleagues across departments to deliver accurate forecasts, insightful reports and interactive dashboards that empower stakeholders.
Your work will contribute to strategic initiatives such as long-term portfolio modelling, business reporting, and operational efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting to support organisational priorities.
- Develop interactive dashboards using Power BI to visualise key metrics for stakeholders.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with long-term portfolio modelling for housing developments and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to train junior staff and bridge knowledge gaps.
- Contribute to system enhancements and process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Support audit processes and compliance tasks to ensure reliability of financial operations.
What You’ll Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting and reporting within an operational or not-for-profit environment.
- Strong skills in Excel/SQL for data manipulation and Power BI for dashboard creation.
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Familiarity with financial systems and a commitment to continuous improvement.
