An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic team in a beautiful office located in West Auckland. This role offers the chance to take full ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to utilise your skills in a supportive environment, with the added benefit of flexible working hours.

What you'll do:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our client's payroll system. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the end-to-end preparation and accurate processing of payrolls, ensuring all necessary checks, compliance measures, and authorisations are in place. You will also manage payroll-related benefit programmes, oversee month-end processes, prepare payroll reports as needed, and maintain high levels of data integrity by updating employee data and payroll records.

  • Responsible for end-to-end preparation and accurate processing of payrolls for employees
  • Take full ownership of setting up and managing payroll process controls to ensure adequate information is available
  • Ensure accurate checks, compliance and appropriate authorisations are in place
  • Manage and administer payroll related benefit programmes
  • Take full ownership of month-end processes
  • Prepare and deliver payroll reports as required
  • Update and maintain employee data and payroll records to ensure high level of data integrity


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Payroll Specialist role brings a wealth of experience in payroll, with at least three to five years under their belt. They possess an excellent understanding of employment and holiday legislation, coupled with advanced knowledge of payroll systems. Proficiency in MS Excel and Office Suite is essential, along with an unwavering attention to detail. A proactive approach characterised by initiative and a 'can-do' attitude is highly valued. Lastly, strong verbal and written communication skills are key to success in this role.

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll
  • Strong understanding of employment and holidays legislation
  • Excellent payroll systems knowledge and skills
  • Advanced MS Excel and Office Suite skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Initiative, a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
