Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Audit Senior to join their team in Auckland. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing expert advice on financial performance and accounting systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that financial statements provide a true and fair indication of financial performance, reviewing accounting systems and control procedures, and making recommendations for improvements. What you'll do:

As an Audit Senior, you will play a crucial role in examining the financial statements of various companies and organisations. Your expertise will be vital in determining whether these statements provide a true reflection of their financial performance. Other responsibilities include:

• Review the accounting systems and control procedures of companies and organisations
• Make recommendations for improvements to accounting systems and control procedures
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations when making decisions
• Help colleagues understand client's needs and expectations in relation to regulatory and technical requirements
• Ensure team member's work is progressing in accordance with engagement scope
• Adhere to ethical standards when dealing with clients, regulators, and team members
• Demonstrate effective application of audit and accounting standards
• Take responsibility in augmenting audit and accounting technical knowledge through aiding in complex training's or leading basic training's

What you bring:

• a minimum of 2-4 year's experience in external audit
• a bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or related area
• CA qualified or studying towards CA qualification
• a high level of interpersonal skills
• strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to self-manage
• be in New Zealand and hold a valid right to work in New Zealand
• experience leading audits and supervising audit teams is an advantage
• experience in reviewing the work of less experienced team members is an advantage
