Our client is seeking a Business Advisory Services (BAS) Senior to join their dynamic team in Auckland CBD. What you'll do:

As a Business Advisory Services Senior, you will play a pivotal role in working with clients to plan for sustainable business growth. You will be tasked with identifying key business issues, creating strategic plans, and ensuring their successful implementation. Your responsibilities will include applying relevant accounting standards, managing external reporting functions, and preparing complex financial statements. You will also liaise closely with clients, preparing detailed management reports that provide valuable insights into their business performance.

  • Apply relevant accounting standards accurately and appropriately
  • Manage the external reporting function of the entity
  • Prepare complex financial statements with minimal review points
  • Liaise with clients and prepare detailed management reports
  • Identify key reporting indicators and interpretations
  • Prepare budgets and cash flows, as well as source and application of fund reports
  • Stay updated on changes to tax legislation and legal decisions
  • Identify tax planning and restructuring opportunities for clients
  • Use AO Tax Management to ensure accuracy of data in tax returns

What you'll bring:

  • 3-4 years of BAS experience
  • Strong understanding of business management principles
  • Proficiency in accounting products, procedures, and practice
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and double-entry accounting
  • Familiarity with current issues facing businesses
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as MYOB and XERO
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
