Our client is seeking a Business Advisory Assistant Manager to join their team in Takapuna. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with clients, identifying their business issues and creating sustainable growth plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying accounting standards, managing external reporting functions, planning and monitoring business performance, and understanding the entity's tax profile. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, and innovative thinking.

The role!

As a Business Advisory Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients' businesses. You will work closely with them to understand their challenges and devise strategies for sustainable growth. Your expertise in accounting standards will be crucial in ensuring accurate external reporting. You will also be responsible for planning and monitoring business performance, providing insightful management reports that drive decision-making. Your understanding of tax profiles will enable you to identify opportunities for tax planning and restructuring. Additionally, your responsibilities will extend to legal compliance, advising on holiday pay calculations, ACC registration, and understanding Companies Office filing requirements.

What you'll do:

The ideal Business Advisory Assistant Manager brings a wealth of knowledge in business management principles and accounting practices. You will also;

  • Strong knowledge of business management principles, accounting products, procedures, practices, and standards
  • Proficiency in double-entry accounting and understanding of current issues facing businesses
  • Excellent analytical, interpretative, problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MYOB, XERO
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse range of people
