Manager - Indirect Tax

What you'll do:

As a specialist Indirect Tax Manager, you'll join a team of experts delivering advice, compliance work, and indirect taxes review assignments. Every business faces indirect taxes issues, and your role will be crucial in helping clients navigate these challenges. You'll be learning, problem-solving, building client relationships, and contributing to the growth of our exciting practice.

• Understand, research and apply relevant tax legislation to complex GST and Customs client issues
• Help clients assess and manage their tax risks through reviews and data analytic solutions
• Support clients with their compliance with GST and other indirect taxes
• Engage with clients to understand their business, identify issues they face, and develop solutions to meet their needs
• Liaise with other teams within the organisation to deliver the best client experience
• Assist the wider team on significant indirect taxes law reform and regular engagement with policy officials

What you bring:

With this being a specialist role, you should bring a wealth of skills to the table. Your ability to understand complex tax legislation will be invaluable in providing advice to our clients. Your experience in dealing with technical GST and Customs issues will enable you to help our clients navigate their tax risks. Your legal background will provide additional depth to your understanding of tax laws. Your excellent command of written English will ensure clear communication with our clients.

• Experience (NZ or international) dealing with technical GST and/or Customs issues is ideal
• A legal background would be advantageous
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise responsibilities is required
• Attention to detail and ownership of work to ensure accuracy and efficiency is necessary
• High motivation to learn and work as part of a tight-knit team is expected
• Excellent command of written English and good communication skills are essential
