An opportunity as the Treasury Accounting Manager has opened up within a well recognised organisation. Hedge Accounting experience is essential for this opportunity.

About the Role:

Leading a team of two, this role will manage and perform all aspects of Hedge Accounting for the organisation and interact with the Asset and Liability Management and Treasury Advisor to ensure Treasury accounting and IFRS accounting outputs are understood and explained with insightful commentary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Hedge accounting piece of the IFRS 9 programme developing documentation and implementing processes to facilitate transition to the new standard.
  • Develop consistent Hedge Accounting processes and reporting, ensuring the organisation stays abreast of accounting, regulatory and market trends.
  • Assist with the production of the Treasury and Financial Markets month end accounting and reporting.
  • Work closely with the external auditors in relation to any technical interpretation of NZ IFRS associated with Hedge Accounting or any other IFRS standards materially impacting financial statements
  • Provide support to broader Finance initiatives with a key focus on process improvement

Key Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountancy
  • Strong technical and operational understanding of hedge accounting
  • Strong IFRS technical knowledge specifically relating to IAS39
  • Strong experience in financial reporting
  • Experience in Treasury accounting or middle office experience, preferable within the banking and financial services industry
