Save job

We’re looking for a Project Manager to play a key role in supporting a large-scale early life support (SAP) transformation programme. This role will take ownership of transition and early life support activities, ensuring smooth rollout across stores while coordinating backlog triage, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.

You’ll sit within the PMO, working closely with deployment partners, technical experts, and senior stakeholders to drive accountability and make sure issues are resolved efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and prioritise a backlog of Jira tickets, ensuring swift triage and resolution.
  • Provide structure and rhythm to early life support processes.
  • Analyse issues and identify trends to address root causes proactively.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to drive accountability.
  • Support and guide coordinators and cutover/release managers during deployment cycles.
  • Report on progress, risks, and performance to senior stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Project Management background – PMP/PRINCE2 certification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working on large-scale transformation/change programmes.
  • Confident, proactive, and comfortable driving initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Retail industry exposure (e.g., Bunnings, Foodstuffs, Woolworths) is highly valued.
  • ERP or SAP knowledge helpful but not essential.
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement with the ability to cut through complexity and focus on outcomes.

Why Apply?

  • Be part of one of New Zealand’s largest retail transformation programmes.
  • Opportunity to shape and grow a role that will evolve over the next two and a half years.
  • Collaborative environment with strong exposure to senior leadership.
  • Genuine chance to make an impact at scale across the retail network.
