About the company: Working within the public sector, you will be joining a fantastic team that is big on company culture and wellbeing. As an HR Advisor you will play a vital role as part of the HR team, providing quality advice & support to the business with all things HR as a trusted advisor. About the role: The HR Advisor will be apart of the Human Resources team, responsible for high quality advice & support provided to managers & HR services to the business. There will be opportunities to contribute to the HR team in specialist areas such as employee engagement, performance management, change management, team development, remuneration, training & employment relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice & support on HR policies and practices
  • Build effective relationships with staff at all levels of the business including employee/union representatives
  • Manage employment relation matters across branches as required
  • Improve people management processes & ensure that all HR practices are consistent and effective across branches
  • Manage & coordinate HR projects amongst the business including Corporate Services
  • Increase & enhance HR’s contribution & presence to the wider business

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience dealing with collective agreements and working with trade unions
  • Knowledge and understanding of correct processes when dealing with complex ER cases
  • Knowledge of relevant and current NZ employment legislation
  • Maintain a strict sense of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality & privacy
  • Previous experience in a HR generalist Advisory role is essential
  • Tertiary qualification within HR is desirable
