Senior People and Culture Advisor

Our client is seeking a Senior People and Culture Advisor to join their team in Auckland. This role is an exciting opportunity to provide expert guidance and support on a range of human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, organisational development and Health, Safety and Wellbeing. The successful candidate will partner with designated departments to enhance the employee experience and help achieve strategic, business and operational goals.

What you'll do:
As a Senior People and Culture Advisor, you will be instrumental in shaping the culture of our client's organisation. You will work closely with department leaders to manage performance issues, employment relations issues, and change initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in coaching managers to meet strategic objectives that have People & Culture implications. You will also lead core processes within your designated portfolio such as annual remuneration reviews and performance management processes. Furthermore, you will manage recruitment needs in collaboration with the recruitment consultant. Your contribution to continuous improvement initiatives will be highly valued.

  • Advise and support Department leaders in managing performance issues, employment relations issues, change initiatives including providing expert input to organisational design and role definitions.
  • Coach managers so the strategic objectives that have People & Culture implications are met.
  • Share knowledge with, and provide guidance to, People & Culture Advisor’s and Administrator to enhance their capability and knowledge.
  • Lead core processes within designated portfolio's which includes annual remuneration review; and performance management processes.
  • Manage recruitment needs, alongside the recruitment consultant, to determine needs and the best approach to source talent.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including designated and relevant projects relevant to the business or the departments the role supports.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior People & Culture Advisor role brings a wealth of experience from all facets of a People & Culture function. With over five years' experience across the employee experience lifecycle, you are adept at managing performance issues and coaching managers to improve their team's performance. Your resilience and flexibility allow you to respond effectively to changing business requirements in a high growth, diverse organisation. You also possess strong stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant human resources qualification (e.g. human resources, psychology, law).
  • Exposure to all facets of a People & Culture function with 5+ years’ experience across the employee experience lifecycle.
  • Experience in change management and restructuring.
  • Highly competent at managing performance issues and coaching managers to improve the performance of their team.
  • Resilient and flexible to respond to changing business requirements in a high growth, diverse organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability.
