Our client is seeking an inspiring and engaging HR Business Partner to join their team in Auckland. This role offers the opportunity to provide proactive and effective advice and tools to business managers and their teams. With a large focus on creating and delivering learning & development strategies, this role is perfect for someone who thrives under pressure, can manage priorities effectively, and has a knack for making things more efficient. The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to work with external providers, and always maintain discretion and confidentiality.

What you'll do:


As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business managers and their teams. You will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting edge learning programs, elevating those learning capabilities from good to great, driving impactful leadership development, providing advice on employment relations and formulating training requirements. Your ability to adapt quickly, work efficiently under pressure and maintain discretion will be key to your success in this role.

  • Collaborate with the business leaders to identify training and development needs
  • Develop L&D content, communications and maintain L&D internal media platforms
  • Work in partnership with divisional stakeholders and People, Performance and Culture colleagues to identify and deliver specific training solutions to meet divisional learning needs
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers on employee-related matters, including engaging employment lawyers/consultants when necessary
  • Prepare human resources plans to support short and longer term objectives
  • Support managers with templates and processes to effectively manage their teams in the realm of human resources
  • Enhance skills, knowledge, and behaviours across the business to support company values
  • Manage and maintain the talent pipeline
  • Assist the HR Administrator in various HR administration tasks, such as onboarding/offboarding processes and managing personnel files

What you bring:

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from a private business environment ideally with an insurance industry focus or professional services client group. You will have proven experience of interpreting and applying employment legislation in New Zealand. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be complemented by a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. An understanding of BambooHR & iPayroll systems will be beneficial. Above all, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in HR with a focus throughout that time in L&D, encompassing the design and implementation of L&D frameworks
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills which enable you to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • A proven track record in supporting organisation-wide initiatives and programs
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that drive productivity and performance outcomes
  • Ability to maintain composure and effectively manage priorities even in high-pressure situations
  • Demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality in working with colleagues and sensitive information
  • Proactively seek ways to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in work processes
  • Ability to collaborate with external providers to deliver comprehensive Human Resource solutions for the company
