Lead Developer

Exciting opportunity to build a brand-new News platform from scratch. We're looking for talented Lead and Senior Developers to join a fast-paced, purpose-driven project on a 6-month contract. This is a greenfield build using modern technologies and a headless CMS, offering the chance to shape the technical direction from day one.

You’ll be part of a small, agile team building a new digital News platform using Payload CMS, hosted on Vercel. The platform will be built from the ground up, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and editorial usability.

The Role/s:

Lead Developer

• Lead the technical delivery and architecture of the platform
• Mentor and guide developers, ensuring best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical decisions with business goals

Senior Developer

• Contribute across the full stack with a focus on clean, scalable code
• Work closely with the Lead Developer and product team
• Help integrate Payload CMS and deploy to Vercel

Ideal Person:

• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and MongoDB
• Experience with headless CMS platforms (Payload CMS ideal)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-friendly environment
• Previous experience in media, publishing, or news platforms is a plus
