This is a high-impact opportunity to shape secure, scalable, and customer-centric API ecosystems, working across engineering, product, and digital teams.

As the Solution Architect, you will take ownership of designing and guiding end-to-end Open Banking solutions across backend systems and digital channels (web and mobile).

You will provide architectural leadership across API design, security, and integration, ensuring alignment with industry standards and enabling seamless third-party integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead API architecture, including Payments and Consent APIs
  • Define and govern API standards, versioning, and integration patterns
  • Design secure identity and access models (OAuth2, OIDC, token-based authentication)
  • Work with modern cloud-native architecture (microservices, event-driven design)
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and integration teams
  • Produce architecture artefacts (solution designs, diagrams, decision records)

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect / API Architect / Integration Architect
  • Strong background in Open Banking, payments, or fintech environments
  • Deep expertise in API design, governance, and integration patterns
  • Strong knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and secure API design
  • Experience designing end-to-end customer journeys across digital platforms
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architecture patterns
  • Ability to operate in complex enterprise environments and influence stakeholders

Why Apply?

  • Work on a major Open Banking programme with real industry impact
  • High-visibility role influencing architecture decisions
  • Collaborative, forward-thinking environment
  • Competitive contract rates

If you’re an experienced architect with a passion for APIs, security, and modern banking platforms, we’d love to hear from you.
