Senior Data Engineer - 6 Month Contract

Our client is on the lookout for a Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team on an initial 6 month contract. What you'll do:

As a Senior Data Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and models that support the organisation's data integration, processing, and analysis needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their specific requirements and deliver tailored solutions. Your role will also involve ensuring the quality and integrity of the data through rigorous testing and validation processes. Additionally, you will optimise the performance and scalability of the team's data products. Your ability to write clean, readable code that is well-documented will be crucial in this role.

• Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
• Work through ad-hoc data requests as required by the broader business to provide the necessary data to support analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust testing and validation processes.
• Optimise data products owned by the team for performance and scalability.
• Build clean, readable code that is well documented that can be collaborated on by multiple engineers.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the 6 month contract - Senior Data Engineer position brings a wealth of industry experience along with a strong proficiency in SQL. You have hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes as well as a deep understanding of data modelling using SQL within transformation tools such as DBT. Your excellent problem-solving skills enable you to align technical solutions with business strategies effectively. A strong understanding of insurance products is essential for this role. Your collaborative nature allows you to work seamlessly with stakeholders to meet complex demands. Experience in building complex data models using a variety of technologies, primarily SQL, DAX, and Python, will be highly advantageous.

• A strong understanding of Insurance products and how they work.

• Experience building complex data models using a variety of technologies (Primarily SQL, DAX, Python).
