What you'll do:

As an IT Security Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the information security landscape of our client's organisation. You will be tasked with identifying key areas for improvement in information security processes and technology uplifts. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the development of an annual Information Security Strategy and Work Programme. You will also manage all residual security risks, incidents, and threats ensuring they are responded to promptly. Your ability to monitor the cyber-security landscape will ensure that measures remain current and fit for purpose. Furthermore, your specialist advice on cyber security will be invaluable to both the IT team and wider staff.

  • Identify and prioritise appropriate information security process and technology uplifts to align with industry standards
  • Support the development of the annual Information Security Strategy and Work Programme
  • Manage all residual security risks, incidents and threats ensuring they are responded to, and investigated appropriately
  • Monitor the cyber-security landscape to ensure measures remain current and fit for purpose
  • Provide specialist cyber security advice to the IT team and wider staff about cyber security areas
  • Lead the delivery of incident response as the incident manager, including incident stand-up, resource management, upwards reporting, and post incident reviews


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this IT Security Manager position brings a wealth of knowledge from previous roles or academic qualifications. You have a deep understanding of Information Security concepts and practices along with knowledge of security for cloud and hybrid environments. Your experience leading organisational responses to information security, privacy, and IT incidents sets you apart from others. In addition to these technical skills, you possess excellent time management abilities and prioritisation skills. Your written and verbal communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of Information Security concepts and practices
  • Knowledge of security for cloud and hybrid environments
  • Experience leading organisational response to information security, privacy, and IT incidents
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
