The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Facilitate all team sprint events, including refinement, planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate, lead and participate in team and programme meetings and Agile ceremonies.
  • Champion the agile way of working and coach teams to develop agile maturity in line with programme expectations and supported by the Agile Coaches.
  • Capture and manage the swift resolution of blockers or impediments that impact the team’s ability to complete planned work.
  • Work collaboratively with the Product Owner to maintain and manage the Team Backlog for effective reporting. This includes creating a breakdown of proposed work and workload in a meaningful and useful way.
  • Support the Programme and Project Manager by raising and capturing key risks, issues and dependencies that may impact the team’s ability to deliver sprint goals and quarterly objectives.
  • Ensure all team events are scheduled and completed to support achievement of desired programme outcomes.
  • Encourage and support the team to adopt DevOps as the programme’s Agile toolset, with the support of the OPD and Agile Coaches as required.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve the ways-of-working, building a culture of continuous reflection and progress.
  • Respond to risks, issues and dependencies that have been raised by team members. Ensure these are logged in the register. Escalate, create clear mitigation plans, and drive towards resolution where they cannot be managed within the team.
