About the role:

As a Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a transformation programme within the healthcare sector. You will be responsible for overseeing the District's programme of work, managing its overall budget and scope. Your role will involve ensuring all stream leads are working according to plan, managing various stakeholders for clear communication, and enabling effective decision-making processes. You will also be tasked with providing necessary reports to the national PMO and regional executives, engaging with wider groups on compliance matters, and actively managing programme risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversee the District’s programme of work
  • Develop and manage the overall budget and scope of the programme
  • Ensure all stream leads are working to plan and delivering according to plan
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure clear and transparent communication
  • Enable effective decision making by organising workshops and seeking input from stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced by continuous monitoring
  • Provide necessary reports to the national PMO and regional executives as agreed
  • Ensure that project status reports are presented to the Steering Committee and District Exec teams as required
  • Engage with wider group of national District's Programme Managers and other national groups in relation to Holidays Act compliance
  • Ensure that programme risks are actively managed

Key Requirements:

  • A commitment to biculturalism and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Proven experience in Programme Management of large and complex projects
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with large teams
  • Formal project management qualifications
  • Experience in stakeholder management including dealing with unions
  • Experience managing finances of large projects worth millions
  • Experience working with third parties to deliver a project
