Senior Java Developer

This is an exciting contract role in the Energy Sector till end of March in the Wellington CBD. It is flexi working. We are hiring for a Senior Java Developer whose worked in C++. This would suit someone who has done C++ component integration with Java Apps.

What you'll do:

You will be integrating the C++ components with Java applications using JNI and Debug and optimise existing code to enhance performance and reliability.

As a Senior Developer, you will be instrumental in designing and building high-quality software that adheres to established development standards.

You will work closely with the project team, ensuring seamless integration with the SCADA systems. Your role will also involve debugging and optimising existing code to enhance performance and reliability. Working within cross-functional teams, you will contribute significantly towards meeting project deliverables on time. Furthermore, you will be responsible for documenting technical specifications, code changes, and project updates in a clear and concise manner.

• Design and build quality software adhering to established development standards using the chosen technology stack.
• Integrate the C++ components with Java applications using JNI.
• Collaborate closely with the project team to ensure seamless integration with the SCADA systems.
• Debug and optimise existing code to enhance performance and reliability.

What you bring:

• The ideal candidate for this Senior C/C++ Developer role is someone who brings a strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience in integrating C++ components with Java applications using JNI would be highly beneficial.
• You should have experience in building and managing build pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git is mandatory for this role.
• Familiarity with logging tools such as Elastic Search, Logstash, Grafana/Kibana would be considered an asset.
• Your ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams will be crucial for ensuring project deliverables are met on time.
