Contract Senior Tester - API

Our client is seeking a Contract Senior Tester with a focus on API. This role is part of a delivery team leading the way with a Core Ledger Replacement program, one of New Zealand's largest IT projects. The successful candidate will take a leadership approach in test design, mitigating project risks through an appropriate test approach, and exploring the application to expose vulnerabilities beyond the business requirements.

What you'll do:

• Work closely with developers to create appropriate automated checks using existing tools
• Develop a common understanding of the business requirements within your agile team
• Reproduce customer defects and debug to identify root causes
• Participate in agile ceremonies including stand up, retrospective, planning and demonstration
• Undertake non-testing related activities to assist the team in delivering on its commitments
• Build API Mocks for Automation and Manual testing

What you bring:

• Extensive knowledge of API Testing is essential
• Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks using Java, Spring, JUnit, Rest-Assured is required
• Ability to build Postman collections for use in manual and exploratory API testing is necessary
• Strong understanding of Swagger and Open API Specifications is crucial
• Experience building SQL scripts to query SQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle Databases is needed
• Proficiency in Linux Command line scripting is important
