We are looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to join a large national firm, working with well-respected partners that head a top-performing Corporate team in the Auckland office. This team has a with national and international reach, allowing you to gain exposure to a varied range of complex work and a diversity of clients.
About the role
Joining two respected Partners in the Corporate team, this opportunity will give the right candidate the chance to enjoy client contact and become involved in high calibre transactions. This includes;
Managing end-to-end workflow to effectively and efficiently deliver on client requests;
Providing that safe pair of experienced hands that Partners can rely upon to make things happen;
Effectively take instructions, use initiative and delegate to others;
Supporting the development of team members;
Producing well researched and analysed legal opinions, correspondence and documents;
Preparing high quality articles, newsletters and presentations/seminars;
Identifying, develop and execute marketing strategies for new and existing business opportunities; and
Further developing and growing in your own career and practice;
Ideally, you’ll have 5+ years’ post qualification experience in NZ or other common law jurisdictions with exposure to various facets of corporate commercial law;
Ability to obtain an NZ practising certificate;
Motivated and driven individual, you’ll thrive on being able to work hard and smart, delivering work effectively – both autonomously and through utilising the team. You’ll apply critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills to review information at hand, think of alternative solutions and evaluate the best approaches to reach a resolution;
You’ll have a strong ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate with others internally and externally. Ideally, you’ll have the interpersonal and communication skills needed to speak openly and hold yourself and others to account, while also treating others with respect and empathy. You’ll be the kind of person who has a positive impact on team and firm wide culture.
