A leading law firm in Auckland is seeking a Senior Solicitor with expertise in Corporate and Commercial law to join their highly regarded team. This opportunity offers you the chance to work on complex M&A transactions, draft and review commercial contracts, and build strong client relationships within a supportive and collaborative environment. What you'll do:

  • Provide expert legal advice on corporate transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, ensuring clients receive clear guidance throughout each stage of the process.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts tailored to meet the specific needs of both local and international clients.
  • Develop strong client relationships by understanding their business objectives and delivering solutions that align with their strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and other solicitors on challenging transactions, sharing knowledge and supporting team success.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training sessions designed to enhance your technical skills as well as your interpersonal abilities.
  • Support junior team members through mentoring or supervision when required, fostering a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams across different practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions for complex business challenges.

What you bring:

  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, obtained in New Zealand
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate transactional work
  • Proven ability to develop strong client relationships through effective communication, empathy, and understanding of business needs.
  • Track record of working collaboratively within teams to achieve excellent outcomes for clients while supporting colleagues’ growth.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds as well as colleagues across practice areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising quality or attention to detail in your work product.
  • High level of professionalism marked by integrity, reliability, discretion, and respect for others within the workplace.
  • Experience working independently when required but always willing to share knowledge or seek input from others for communal benefit.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development demonstrated by participation in training programmes or pursuit of further qualifications.
