MoranLaw is looking for a lawyer that is passionate about working in the commercial and corporate space to join their high performing team.

They are a boutique intellectual property, commercial and private client firm operating from Wellington, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. This position will ideally suit someone from a private practice background specialising in corporate and commercial work or a lawyer currently doing more generalist work that would like the opportunity to specialise.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Working closely with Scott Moran and the rest of the close-knit team, you will work with some of New Zealand's leading business, not-for-profits and family offices. You will be involved in a broad range of corporate and commercial work including working with start-up organisations on capital raising, employment share schemes etc and some M&A.

This position offers the chance to take the lead on complex work, with support as needed, which will enable you to develop your skills and experience quickly. You will get plenty of client engagement, with excellent networking, development and mentoring opportunities available and the office is new, well equipped and based on Wellington’s waterfront.

The salary on offer is competitive with the top-tier and flexible working arrangements are available.

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

• 1 – 7 years PQE with private practice experience.
• Ideally, you will have a strong corporate and commercial background, but if you have more generalist experience and want to specialise, that will be considered.
• New Zealand or commonwealth qualified.
• Excellent relationship management skills.
• A team player – you will enjoy the opportunity to work autonomously as well as collaborate with your colleagues.
