A leading law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate to join their highly respected Corporate & Commercial team, based in Auckland CBD. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to work on high-profile domestic and international transactions, advising top-tier clients across multiple jurisdictions.

What you'll do:

You will play a pivotal role in advising clients on sophisticated domestic and international transactions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing tailored legal solutions for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, commercial contracts, and more. You will collaborate with colleagues across various jurisdictions to ensure seamless delivery of advice while nurturing strong client relationships. Success in this role requires you to demonstrate excellent communication skills when engaging with stakeholders at all levels; proactively support junior lawyers; participate in business development activities; maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation; and contribute positively to the team’s inclusive culture. You will have the opportunity to work on noteworthy engagements involving high-profile clients while benefiting from ongoing training opportunities designed to further your professional growth.

What you bring:

  • 7 years’ experience practising corporate law within reputable firms or organisations;
  • Proven ability to lead files independently while collaborating effectively as part of a wider team;
  • Strong drafting skills for commercial contracts, including procurement agreements, supply arrangements, sponsorships, strategic alliances, franchising documents, and more.
  • Comprehensive understanding of New Zealand corporate governance frameworks along with familiarity with international regulatory environments relevant to cross-border deals.
  • Experience advising on mergers & acquisitions (including takeovers), private equity transactions, venture capital investments, fund formations or equity capital raising initiatives.
  • Enthusiasm for business development activities aimed at expanding the firm’s client base through networking events or thought leadership contributions.
