Enjoy the relaxed Bay of Plenty lifestyle while working alongside knowledgeable colleagues who are committed to delivering pragmatic solutions for a diverse range of clients, from local SMEs to large corporates and exporters.

What you'll do:

You will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive legal services across a broad range of corporate matters. Your day-to-day activities will involve advising clients on structuring their businesses for success, navigating complex contractual negotiations, and facilitating seamless business transactions. You will be encouraged to build strong relationships both internally—with partners who bring international experience—and externally with clients spanning multiple industries. By mentoring junior colleagues and participating in regular professional development initiatives, you will not only enhance your own expertise but also contribute meaningfully to the growth of the team. Success in this role comes from your ability to connect empathetically with clients, apply sound judgement under pressure, and thrive within a supportive environment that values collaboration as much as technical excellence.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience handling a broad range of commercial and corporate law matter and familiarity with advising on business structures, drafting commercial contracts, providing practical commercial advice, and supporting M&A deals.
  • Experience or interest in working with clients from horticultural or other primary industry sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work both autonomously on individual files as well as collaboratively within a larger team setting.
  • Willingness to assist less experienced colleagues through mentoring or informal support channels.
  • Commercial acumen that enables you to identify key issues quickly and offer pragmatic solutions tailored to each client’s circumstances.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to build rapport easily with clients and colleagues alike while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work from contract drafting through to transaction completion.
  • Sound judgement coupled with common sense that informs your approach to problem-solving within fast-moving environments.

What sets this company apart:

This firm stands out for its unwavering commitment to fostering a genuinely supportive team culture where every member feels valued. With deep roots in Tauranga’s legal community, they offer not just challenging work but also an enviable lifestyle balance unique to the Bay of Plenty region.

Employees benefit from:

  • free onsite parking, making daily commutes stress-free along;
  • additional birthday leave;
  • regular well being workshops;
  • frequent internal social and sporting events;
  • ongoing professional development
  • access to Employee Assistance Programmes; and
  • discounted health insurance
