An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Lawyer to join a leading employment team. This is a rare chance to work with people highly regarded in their field.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be a trusted adviser to numerous employers in both the public and private sectors. Your position will involve handling the full breadth of employment law issues with a good balance across contentious and non-contentious matters. Depending on your skill set you could be involved in any of the following:

  • Dealing with HR policies, employment agreements and contractor arrangements
  • Performance management
  • Disciplinary investigations and dismissals
  • Personal grievances and disputes
  • Restructuring and redundancy
  • Remuneration and employee incentive schemes
  • Health and safety
  • Employment aspects of corporate transactions
  • Appearing as counsel in mediations and before the Employment Relations Authority, the Employment Court and the appellate courts.

Various work options will be considered, including full time and part time.

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

  • 2-8 years post-admission experience with some acquired in employment law
  • A practical and commercial approach
  • Thrive on problem-solving and have a friendly professional style
  • A current New Zealand practicing certificate or eligibility to obtain one
