Legal Counsel/Senior - Commercial Advisory Specialist

This International, multidisciplinary Property and Construction consultancy responsible for the delivery of some of New Zealand’s iconic building and construction projects are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel/Senior -Commercial Advisory Specialist.

This is a unique and broad-based opportunity that will provide a balance of legal services for in-house duties, providing advice, drafting and reviewing contractual matters within the construction and commercial property sector and commercial advisory services that will primarily relate to ‘pre-construction’ activities (feasibility assessments, funding and financing, business cases, planning).

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer and will bring a strong foundation of legal skills and/or commercial advisory experience – ideally both.

You will have direct experience providing legal support to in-house legal teams or in private practice law firm. In addition, you will have a robust contractual and legal background in the construction and/or commercial property sector with commercial advisory experience.

We are seeking applicants with a range of 2-8 years PQE, capable of working autonomously while supporting business objectives. You will need to be legally qualified with the ability to obtain a practising certificate. This organisation offers flexible working arrangements, including part-time and remote work options.

Ideally this role will be based in Wellington but will also consider candidates located in Auckland and Christchurch and other regions in New Zealand where this organisation have a presence.
