Inhouse - Paralegal

This role plays a crucial role in supporting Corporate Counsel with the examination of tender documents and contracts. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in legal, commercial, or contract-related roles, with additional experience in construction or engineering considered a valuable asset. * if you are a solicitor wanting to consider this role, you must have atleast 1-2 years of PQE

The role sits within the contracts review team and reports to the Head of Legal Operations based out of Brisbane.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct contract reviews according to company guidelines to minimize potential legal risks for Stantec.
• Perform legal research to support the APAC Risk Management team.
• Assist in reviewing project correspondence related to claims, and help prepare chronologies and claims reports.

To Excel in This Role, You Will Need:

• A strong eagerness to learn and a curiosity about contract clauses and their implications.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting deadlines.
• Strong drafting abilities and meticulous attention to detail in reviewing and assisting with legal documents.
• Effective communication skills coupled with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Previous experience in a law firm, in-house legal role, or contract management/review role will be highly valued.
