Environment Senior Solicitor or Senior Associate

We are looking for a senior solicitor or senior associate to join a firm with an excellent reputation. There is an office in Wellington, but flexible working will be considered, including remote. You will have the opportunity to work on high-profile matters across local government and environmental law.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be at the forefront of local government and environmental law. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing legal advice across matters including but not limited to, urban development, large infrastructure projects, freshwater management, and private and public planning changes. There will be a good balance of contentious and non-contentious work, including dealing with enforcement matters. You will get exceptional learning and development opportunities here as well with supportive Partners that will work alongside you.

Flexible working is on offer including hybrid working and part-time, and remote working will be considered for the right person.

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

  • 3-10 years of post-admission experience
  • Environmental law experience
  • If you have local government and/or public law experience that will be considered a bonus, but is not essential
  • If you are a qualified lawyer that has acquired experience in the planning space and would now like to move into law, we would also like to hear from you
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Motivated to learn and develop within the firm
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities
  • Commonwealth qualified
