A top-tier firm in Auckland is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor (2-8 PQE) to join their team. What you'll do:

  • Provide expert legal advice on property transactions, commercial contracts (exposure to construction projects and regulatory matters is a benefit).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements related to property acquisitions, disposals, leasing arrangements, and commercial operations.
  • Support clients through all stages of property development projects by advising on compliance requirements, risk management strategies, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to client needs in commercial property law.
  • Represent clients in negotiations with stakeholders such as developers, contractors, government agencies, and regulatory bodies to ensure favourable outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and industry standards to inform advice and decision-making processes.

What you bring:

  • Current New Zealand practising certificate or the ability to obtain one
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial property law, gained within a reputable firm
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts relating to property transactions or commercial operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different teams while building positive relationships with clients.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research using relevant statutes, regulations, case law databases, and industry resources.
  • Inclusive mindset that values diversity within teams coupled with sensitivity towards client needs from varied backgrounds.
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards contributing positively to business development activities aimed at expanding client networks within the local government sector.
