Senior Solicitor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced Senior Solicitors to this large central Government regulatory legal team in Wellington. If you're keen to expand on your commercial legal experience industries and provide impactful legal advice on significant programmes of work, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

About the Role
These full-time roles provide an opportunity to work across a diverse range of significant programmes providing commercial advice. You will be a trusted advisor, providing strategic legal counsel on commercial contracts and navigating a broad range of stakeholders

Senior Solicitor – Commercial
• Provide commercial law expertise, including contract negotiation and grant funding agreements.
• Key areas of work will include supporting funding programmes from across this agency, reviewing, advising and assisting with the negotiation of contracts including contracts for goods and services, ICT agreements and other agreements.

About You
You will need a relevant law degree and a current New Zealand practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one). Significant experience in public law or commercial law, particularly in contract negotiation and grant agreements.
• The successful applicants will have significant commercial experience maybe from in house roles private or public sector with up to ideally 7 years PQE experience. In-house experience in government or a large regulator.
