Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join a values-driven organisation on the North Shore, Auckland. This position offers you the chance to work within a supportive team that is committed to making a positive impact on both clients and communities.

What you'll do:

As a Bid Writer, you will immerse yourself in every stage of the bid process—from initial opportunity identification through to final submission and contract mobilisation. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with colleagues across multiple departments as you gather information, craft persuasive proposals, manage critical timelines, and ensure all documentation is meticulously prepared. You will also play an essential part in maintaining up-to-date records within CRM systems to support ongoing business growth. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also excellent interpersonal skills; you’ll be expected to communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders and external clients while embodying the organisation’s core values.

  • Contribute effectively to the preparation of bids from initiation through to submission and resolution, ensuring all documentation is well-organised, accurate, and meets customer requirements.
  • Coordinate projects by identifying opportunities, capturing data in CRM systems, liaising with subject matter experts, and producing consistent, compelling submissions.
  • Develop high-quality tender presentations that support the delivery of successful bids and reflect the organisation’s brand values.
  • Manage post-tender documentation processes including audits and ensure clear communication of outcomes to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend tender meetings and presentations as needed to represent the organisation professionally to external parties.

What you bring:

To excel as a Bid Writer in this role, you will bring substantial experience crafting winning proposals within deadline-driven environments—preferably on large-scale or complex projects. Beyond technical know-how with CRM tools and office software suites, your real strength lies in your ability to communicate persuasively—both in writing and verbally with stakeholders at every level. You are known for your meticulous approach to detail as well as your capacity for building warm relationships across teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field ; additional certifications in bid or proposal management such as APMP are advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in bid writing or proposal development—ideally involving large or complex tenders.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities with proven experience handling multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite is necessary for efficient data management and document creation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
