Join an exciting programme and deliver projects that play an important role in getting Wellington city’s infrastructure up to speed.
The purpose of this role is to manage significant projects through the single stage business case and pre-implementation phases and into delivery. The role will own and manage all aspects of the projects including scheduling, risk and issues management, budgeting and financial management, stakeholder management, contractual management, change control, reviews and approvals and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate a way of working within the team that builds a constructive and collaborative environment where different thinking and ideas are encouraged
- Lead the development and delivery of a robust and evidence-based business case for projects
- Lead the engagement and stakeholder management activities and wider collaboration required to deliver the business case and subsequent work programme
- Identify risks that may impact on delivery such as reputational, political and other risks, ensure these are raised in a timely manner
- Ensure consultants provide business case advice within agreed timeframes and the advice meets objectives and enables effective decision making and outcomes
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience managing complex projects
- Leading multi modal transport projects in complex urban environments
- Leading the development and delivery of robust and credible business cases for capital infrastructure projects
- Technical and project leadership experience, including in the delivery of physical works in complex operating environments
- Building and leading teams of consultants and contractors to deliver projects and programmes
- Contract management and commercial negotiation
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management
