Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your work has a tangible impact on regulatory systems? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Senior Advisor on a two year fixed-term basis.

The Role
As the Senior Advisor – Guidance, you will lead the development of critical guidance materials that support regulatory functions. These materials include advisory circulars and other documentation that provide clear and accessible information to various stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in translating complex policies, legislation, and operational requirements into plain language guidance that is easy to understand and implement.
This position requires strong collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), policy advisors, legal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure guidance materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with regulatory frameworks. You’ll also contribute to mentoring team members and promoting best practices in guidance development across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of guidance materials such as advisory circulars to describe acceptable means of compliance with rules and standards.
  • Translate policy changes, legislation, and operational requirements into practical guidance for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with SMEs, legal teams, communications teams, and operational managers to ensure accuracy and usability of materials.
  • Review content thoroughly to ensure consistency in style, presentation, and accessibility.
  • Assess feedback from stakeholders and adjust approaches to meet their needs effectively.
  • Identify risks or issues related to guidance development and track progress against project timelines.
  • Mentor team members and promote understanding of guidance processes within the organization.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience in technical writing or developing high-quality guidance materials for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex material into plain language.
  • Experience working in government or regulatory environments.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and information design skills with a focus on usability and consistency.
  • Familiarity with plain language principles, accessibility standards, and style guides.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts across policy, legal, and operational teams.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and relationship-building abilities in technical environments.
  • The ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver multiple pieces of work in a fast-paced setting.
