A world-leading automotive firm is recruiting a Procurement Specialist in Auckland to join their team. In this Procurement Specialist job, you will be responsible for leading the procurement and buyer functions of the business in New Zealand.

About the Procurement Specialist Role:

The procurement Officer will be responsible for coordinating and assisting with sustainable procurement strategies, coordinating procurement actions, providing support for the systems, Policies and Procedures.

The role will predominantly focus on indirect category segments including marketing, services, logistics and industrial materials.

They will be the key resource to negotiate new supply agreements and maintain existing supplier relationships.

  • Negotiate contractual commitments, monitor and drive supplier performance (cost, quality & delivery)
  • Build positive relationships and represent Purchasing with cross-functional business partners to allow for early engagement and seamless project implementation
  • Develop sourcing strategies and conduct market tests/benchmarking
  • Develop and achieve monthly/annual cost roadmaps and plans
  • Use the Globally recognized Policies and Procedures to implement improved procurement practices
  • Review existing supplier contracts and make suitable adjustments as required
  • Develop short/Medium/Long term procurement strategies to support the needs of the business.

A talented procurement specialist is required for this rewarding role.


Key Requirements:

  • 10 years professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a purchasing/procurement role
  • Preferably a proven track record across the indirect category space
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills
  • Experienced in the compliance of policy and procedures
  • High level of written and oral English language skills
  • Project and time management ability
  • NZ working rights.
