Senior Procurement Specialist
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join a high-performing team supporting the delivery of a major capital works and transport programme. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring complex projects You’ll lead end-to-end procurement processes, partner with project managers and technical specialists, and provide trusted advice across a diverse portfolio of high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for major infrastructure, transport, and capital works projects.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that drive value and manage risk.
- Provide expert advice on best practice, compliance, and contract management.
- Support tender evaluations, supplier negotiations, and contract execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
About You
You’re an experienced procurement professional who can confidently deliver in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll thrive in a small, agile organisation where you can hit the ground running and see the tangible impact of your work.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing full end-to-end procurement processes in the public or consulting sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement models, tendering, and contract management (experience with NZ public sector frameworks or NZS 3910 advantageous).
- A balance of operational capability and strategic insight — able to “do the doing” while understanding the bigger picture.
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Infrastructure or construction sector experience is desirable, but not essential.
