Senior Property Advisor

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team responsible for policy, research, strategic planning, and more. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the Land Strategy Project and other land management tasks. This position requires a professional who can establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Property Advisor, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of public land transactions within the Kapiti Coast District Council. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with the development of a land strategy while also managing property acquisitions, easements and disposals. You will provide sound strategic advice on these matters while ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Your commitment to our organisational values will shine through in your interactions with all stakeholders as you establish and maintain effective working relationships. This role offers an exciting blend of strategic planning and hands-on project management.

• Assist with the development of a land strategy and any associated tasks or projects.
• Prepare Council reports and present at meetings as required.
• Provide sound strategic, policy and technical advice regarding property acquisitions and disposals, road legalisations and easements.
• Provide assistance in the management of property acquisitions, easements and disposals, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
• Demonstrate commitment to organisational values through behaviour that is consistent with our caring, dynamic and effective approach to customer service.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Property Advisor role brings experience in public land transactions or advisory roles. You have proven expertise in land or property research and are adept at providing insightful advice. Your excellent knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Public Works Act, Property Law Act and Local Government Acts will be crucial in this role. You have demonstrated experience working with GIS or LandOnline systems and possess effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• At least 5 years’ experience in public land transactions or advisory.
• Proven experience in land or property research and providing advice.
• Excellent working knowledge of the Public Works Act, Property Law Act and Local Government Acts.
• Demonstrated experience working with GIS or LandOnline systems.
• Effective communication skills both oral and written including the ability to present at formal meetings.
