Commercial Manager - Property

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Commercial Manager to join a leading property development company. The role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working collaboratively and has a passion for driving commercial success. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial modelling, project feasibility studies, contract management and stakeholder relationship management.

What you'll do:

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the commercial success of our client's portfolio. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager to compile project feasibilities, oversee programmes until handover, manage approved budgets, identify and manage risks, handle all procurement-related tasks, monitor programme effects regularly, implement continuous improvement activities, and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining high-quality standards will be crucial in this role.

• Collaborate with the General Manager to compile feasibilities for projects
• Oversee and report against programmes until handover to Property or Sales have occurred
• Manage approved budgets in accordance with financial management policies and systems
• Identify and manage programme and project risks and issues until handover
• Manage all procurement, contracts and related service level agreements
• Monitor and report effect of programme at regular intervals throughout the life of the project(s)
• Implement continuous improvement activities as agreed with the General Manager
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Commercial Manager position brings a wealth of experience in development/project work, extensive project management skills, excellent relationship building abilities, superior communication skills, sound facilitation and negotiation capabilities, commercial acumen particularly around procurement processes, problem-solving prowess, along with relevant tertiary qualifications. Your proven track record in these areas will set you apart as the perfect fit for this role.

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor degree in business or a related field such as finance or construction management)
• (Minimum of 8 years) Significant experience in development/projects work
• Extensive Project Management experience
• Proven history of excellent relationship building and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound facilitation and negotiation skills
• Sound commercial judgement and understanding of procurement
• Ability to identify and resolve problems
