Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Claims Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage, coach, and mentor a team of Technical Claims Specialists while providing technical support and guidance on complex and high-value claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying strategies to minimise claims cost, managing complex claims events, fostering a positive team culture, and maintaining strong client relationships. This role is based in the vibrant city of Auckland CBD. * Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Technical Claims Specialists. * Identify strategies to minimise claims cost and leakage. * Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.


What you'll do:

As a Technical Claims Manager in Financial Lines, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex claims while leading a dedicated team of specialists. Your primary responsibilities will include developing strategies to minimise claims cost, responding to complex claims events, fostering a positive team culture, identifying training needs within the team, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will also work closely with various stakeholders including the National Claims Manager, Claims Specialist Team, Service Providers, insured clients, agents, and the general public.

Develop and implement strategies to minimise claims cost and leakage from day-to-day claims management.
Work closely with your National Claims Manager, Claims Specialist Team, and Service Providers to assess, respond to, and manage complex claims and catastrophic events.
Foster a positive and united team culture through technical assessments and coaching.
Identify training needs within the team and develop a comprehensive training calendar.
Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy changes, and industry trends.
Ensure compliance with best practice, regulatory/legal requirements, and company processes and policies.

The ideal candidate for this Technical Claims Manager role brings extensive experience in the insurance industry along with a proven track record in customer service. You possess strong organisational skills that allow you to effectively manage multiple tasks at once. Your excellent communication skills enable you to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. With your analytical abilities, you can easily identify trends and recommend appropriate strategies. Your conflict resolution skills are top-notch allowing you to remain calm under pressure. Lastly, your experience in coaching and developing teams will be crucial in fostering a positive and united team culture.
