Our client is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Contractor to complete a crucial audit review for a prestigious government agency. This short-term contract role offers the opportunity to utilise pre-existing controls and engage with various stakeholders and senior leaders. What you'll do:

As an Internal Audit Contractor, you will play a pivotal role in completing an important audit review for a government agency. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting assurance reviews, engaging with stakeholders at various levels, and utilising pre-existing controls. You will be instrumental in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and providing expert advice based on your findings. Your ability to prepare detailed reports and present them effectively to senior management will be key to your success in this role.

  • Complete assurance reviews within the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Engage with various stakeholders and senior leaders, fostering strong relationships and facilitating effective communication
  • Utilise pre-existing controls to ensure the integrity of audit processes
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations based on audit finding
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present them to senior management

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Internal Audit Contractor role will bring a wealth of experience in internal audit or risk management, with at least five years in similar roles. You will have a deep understanding of auditing standards and regulations, coupled with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Your ability to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies will be crucial, as will your expertise in using pre-existing controls. Strong report writing skills are also essential for this role.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in internal audit + risk management
  • Experience in hourly rate contracting
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards and regulations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
  • Expertise in using pre-existing controls
  • Strong report writing skills
