Internal Auditor - Contract Need

This an hourly rate contract that will run for approximately 5 months. This role will require an experienced Internal Auditor who can deliver audits across a wide range of business functions and build trust and confidence with SLT.

Our client is looking for an experienced Internal Audit Advisor to support their Risk and Assurance function. In this role, you'll lead and deliver audits across a wide range of business functions – all with a focus on organisational risk, compliance, performance, and continuity planning.

Your work will provide valuable insights and assurance to our Executive Leadership Team, Audit Committee, and other key stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement and good governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering meaningful audits that align with strategic goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Understanding of the organisations performance obligations to regulators, councils and other stakeholders.
• Working closely with Risk and Compliance advisors to inform audit focus areas and support recommendations to leadership.
• Scheduling and managing audit reviews to ensure regular assurance activities and follow-up.
• Gathering evidence and producing clear, insightful audit reports.
• Contributing to Audit Committee reporting and wider assurance efforts.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in internal auditing or a related assurance role.
• Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk, compliance and organisational performance.
• Confident working across teams and building strong relationships.
• Skilled at identifying improvement areas and translating findings into practical actions.
• A detail-oriented mindset and ability to clearly present audit outcomes.
