Senior Inventory Specialist

This is a hands-on, senior role supporting a large science-based organisation operating complex laboratory environments. You’ll be responsible for the safe movement, storage, tracking and disposal of hazardous substances, ensuring full compliance with legislation and strong day-to-day service delivery.

The Role

You will:

  • Manage inwards and outwards hazardous goods across site
  • Own and maintain the Chemical Inventory System (CIS)
  • Manage location compliance certificates (LCCs) and chemical thresholds
  • Coordinate chemical decanting and disposal with external providers
  • Work closely with scientists, tenants, and contractors
  • Provide day-to-day leadership within the logistics team
  • Champion health & safety and continuous improvement
  • This is a visible, on-site role with real responsibility.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Working knowledge of HSNO legislation and GHS classification
  • Experience handling or managing hazardous substances
  • Confidence working with systems and data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
  • Willingness to obtain a forklift licence (or already hold one)
  • Experience in labs, waste management, chemical or pharmaceutical environments is highly regarded.
